How wide should an interlock walkway be in Ottawa?

Can an interlock walkway be curved or does it have to be straight?

There’s no requirement to keep it straight. Curved designs work just fine. On bigger front yards, or properties where a straight line would clash with the landscaping, curves are often the better fit.

How do I keep my stone walkway from heaving in Ottawa winters?

Proper base depth and compaction at installation are the main factors. A walkway built on a shallow or poorly compacted base is far more likely to heave than one built to full depth.
